Prospect Community Garden, 2012

In 2012 I designed a new gateway to make a welcoming entrance to the Community Garden that allows the space to be visible to the public. Motifs were selected to represent aspects of the garden. The gate was made from laser cut Cor Ten steel which I chose for it’s weathering qualities, as there is a natural process at work on the steel which reveals shades of brown and orange. It is a rustic and raw material that works well with wood and has a striking contrast to the greenery of the garden.
